Shehbaz Sharif takes oath as 23rd Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan after receiving majority votes in Parliament

After week-long uncertainty Shehbaz Sharif elected as the new Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, this happened after receiving majority votes in Parliament. Shehbaz Sharif has taken the oath and officially become the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Imran Khan the former Prime Minister of Pakistan was ousted in a no-confidence vote a day before Shehbaz Sharif elected as the new Prime Minister. Imran Khan the former PM of Pakistan tried to block the no-confidence vote which was later declared against the Constitution of Pakistan by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif who is best known as the Opposition leader worked with other parties for the last 1.5 years to remove Imran Khan from the chair of Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and on 10th April 2022, they got succeed and got what they waited for.

Shehbaz Sharif was born on September 23, 1951 in Lahore Pakistan. He is previously famous for being the Chief Minister of Punjab and according to the people of Punjab he has done several development projects for Punjab, especially for Lahore the Capital of Punjab Province. He served as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan from 20 August 2018 to 10 April 2022.

On Monday Parliament members chosen Shehbaz Sharif as the new Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
